Pits & Bits Towel Off Personal Care Reviewed

Disclaimer: Firstly a disclaimer. Pits and Bits sent me a free sample of their personal care products for my own use in return for a review of their products.

The Products: Pits & Bits Towel Off Shampoo & Pits & Bits Towel Off Body Wash.

These products are designed for your personal hygiene needs when you don’t have access to running water or a shower block. To use them all that’s required is to pour a quantity on to your hair to rub in and then dry with a towel and then to do likewise with the parts of your body you wish to freshen up and then towel yourself dry again.

It’s ideal where access to a shower block is restricted or unavailable to campers or the queue for the block is too long to be worth waiting for, a common problem at overrun festivals. It’s also ideal after playing sports such a round of golf, a game of tennis or cricket etc where the clubhouse, pavilion or changing rooms are closed. Simply tip a quantity of the shampoo over you and then the body wash (it’s best to do both separately for better results) and towel dry.

Likewise if you’re travelling on a long journey they’ll again be useful for freshening up, or indeed if there’s a day or two you need to go out and don’t have the time for a bath or shower.

I’ve now used the products several times and they do exactly what they say. You feel fresh enough to mix with other people without sensing any odours or other grime. Deciding on the correct amount to use is a matter of trial and error. The first time I used them I possibly didn’t use them enough, the next time possibly slightly too much but it’s relatively easy to gauge what’s a suitable amount to apply. And remember, all without the need to use any water whatsoever.

So I’ve got no hesitation in recommending Pits & Bits personal care products. Their 200 ml plastic bottles cost just under £5 or for a few pounds more you can order a kit comprising both. By the way the plastic used is already 25% recycled plastic. You’ll also save many gallons of water so it’s a great way to do your bit for nature and the environment without the need to be smelly too!
