Paultons Park, with over 70 rides and attractions, is one of the leading theme parks in the south of England and makes for a great family day out for your children to remember.

Located on the B3078 country road through the New Forest between Sandy Balls and the Fighting Cocks pub, Cypress Log Cabins caters for adult visitors and is particularly popular amongst holidaying couples. It has a reputation for providing comfortable accommodation, offering a relaxed and informal setting for visitors that’s perfectly located for exploring the New Forest.

Hollands Wood campsite is set in 22 hectares of beautiful oak woodland just north of Brockenhurst, with touring pitches set amidst the giant oak trees here. There are 600 pitches here, all set on grassland, with a toilet block and showers. The site has no electricity as it is intended as a get away from it all location, ideal if you’re looking for a digital detoxification.

Hollands Wood enjoys direct access into the New Forest via numerous walking and cycle paths, and is within easy reach of a very pretty picnic site at Balmer Lawn next to the Lymington River, a perfect spot for lunch or any other meal, next to an enchanting waterway – with abundant wildlife all around.

Whenever you might feel the need to get back to “civilisation” and offsite refreshments, Brockenhurst and it’s pubs, banks, shops and restaurants are just a ten minute stroll away.

6) Hoburne Naish

Hoburne Naish is a beautiful holiday park with a clubhouse that was refurbished in 2016, and has a restaurant, bar, coffee shop and takeaway. There is a heated indoor pool, a splash pool for really little ones and a seasonally open outdoor pool, along with a nature trail, mini golf, adventure playground, a tennis court, an amusement arcade and lots more, including a bar and a children’s play area. If you wish to, you can head straight to the beach the moment you’ve checked in!

Hoburne Naish is near to the New Forest town of New Milton and has panoramic sea views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight from its splendid cliff-top location.

7) Red Shoot Camping Park

In the heart of the New Forest up a country road off the B3078 Cadnam to Fordingbridge road near the hamlet of Linwood is Red Shoot Camping Park. Red Shoot welcomes tents, caravans, motorhomes and campervans and can offer a choice of both electric and non-electric grass pitches. Facilities include an on-site shop and bakery, children’s play area, laundry room, under floor heated showers/toilets and family and disabled bathrooms, which are all maintained to a high standard.

The focus is on families and couples so noisy hen or stag parties and large group bookings are not permitted here. Dogs are permitted.

The popular Red Shoot Inn is a quintessential country pub next to the campsite. Children and dogs are welcome in this Wadsworth Brewery pub, which also has it’s own microbrewery where you can sample the likes of Tom’s Tipple and Forest Gold. There’s also plenty of home cooked pub grub for days when you might be bored at the thought of another BBQ or the weather isn’t suitable for al fresco dining.

Red Shoot Camping Park is usually open from March to October. Winners of a TripAdvisor Award for Excellence in 2014, 2015 and 2016, it is a very popular campsite so it is advisable to book in advance in busy periods. You must do that by phoning up as there is no online booking option. Read more »

8) Hoburne Bashley

Located on the south western edge of the New Forest at Bashley, between New Milton and Sway, Hoburne Bashley has a host of activities and amenities for visitors including an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, a sauna & steam room, Satellite TV, a Fitness Room and a WiFi hotspot.

Accommodation here comes in the shape of static caravans. Feedback from visitors are that these are well maintained and Hoburne Bashley enjoys a very good reputation amongst online reviewers, including TripAdvisor and Reevoo.

Golfers will enjoy the 9-hole, par 3 golf course and driving range on this site, complete with a resident golf pro (charges do apply for using this amenity).

A Woodland Centre will encourage youngsters to embrace the natural beauty on your doorstep if you opt for a holiday here. Bushcraft and woodland management are amongst the courses on offer here.

There are plenty of options for walking and cycling on the woodland paths and trails immediately outside the site. As it is only a ten minute drive to the beach, a day at the seaside is an easy alternative to exploring the New Forest if you feel like it.
