Book May Half-Term Early, Save Up To 30 Per Cent With Al Fresco Holidays

Al Fresco have announced savings of 30% on early bookings for holidays in next year’s May half-term week at many of their leading camping parks. Some of the sunniest weather in France at this time of the year can be found on the Mediterranean coastline and parts of the Atlantic coast such as the Vendee. This is a summary of a few locations you might wish to consider. There is a link to the entire list, together with more information at the bottom of the page.

Le Brasilia Campsite, Canet Plage, Roussillon

Campsite Le Brasilia is in the Roussillon region of France on the Mediterranean coast near the Spanish border and the Pyrenees. Much of the accommodation here has been modernised, installed in time for the 2016 season. It’s generally regarded as a lively camping park so would be good if you enjoy entertainment and a bit of a party atmosphere but maybe will not be the thing if you prefer quiet and solitude.

There is direct beach access to a glorious sandy beach, besides a pool complex complete with waterslides, a jacuzzi and a toddler area, together with the types of facilities you’d expect at a 5 star camping park. The nearest airport is Perpignan, or if you prefer to drive down, Caen/Ouistreham is a 600 mile drive.

La Garangeoire, Vendee Coast

La Garangeoire is located on the Vendee Coast of France. The campsite is in a peaceful woodland setting in the grounds of an elegant chateau estate. It has a lagoon shaped swimming pool, some of which is covered in case of colder temperatures or rain. There is a spacious bar, a restaurant and a gas BBQ is provided for each mobile home. The sandy beaches, restaurants and other amenities of Les Sables d’Olonne are comfortably in range, being just 12 miles away.

Les Prairies de la Mer, Port Grimaud, Cote d’Azur

Prairies de la Mer is an exclusive park with views of nearby St Tropez, which can also be reached via a short boat trip as an alternative to driving. It is in a prime position for direct access to a sandy Mediterranean beach. Port Grimaud itself is just a short walk from the campsite. There is plenty of entertainment onsite but do note there is no outdoor swimming pool here although the nearness of the beach more than compensates in the view of most visitors, given it’s high review rating.

As the half-term holiday falls in the early part of the French holiday season, it’s strongly recommended you check if any amenity that is particularly important to you is open at the time of your visit before booking.
