If that’s not impressive enough, it also has direct access to a magnificent and exclusive sandy beach that has been voted one of the best beaches in the south of France by travel journalists at the Telegraph newspaper.
This hugely popular camping holiday park, run by top French operator Yelloh!, has plenty of amenities. This includes a tropical heated outdoor pool, an amazing spa pool, waterslides, and all sorts of other facilities, including loads of live entertainment, and sports activities. This includes two tennis courts, two table tennis tables, two basketball courts, a volleyball net and much else.
This is a large site with over 1,000 pitches but the facilities and amenities seem to cope comfortably with the number of visitors, even at the busiest periods. If you want to stay at a quieter time, it is usually open from late April through to the last week of September. You can book a range of 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom mobile homes with decking through Al Fresco Holidays and through Yelloh!
Yelloh! Village le Serignan Plage is located in the Languedoc region on the Mediterranean coast of France. The nearest larger cities include Beziers, Narbonne and Montpellier.

Village Le Club Farret enjoy direct access to a beautiful sandy Mediterranean beach. There are two large outdoor pools, one rectangular and one a lagoon, with adjacent toddler pools on the camping park itself.
Sporting options here include a tennis court, four table tennis tables, a basketball court and a volleyball net. There are also three playgrounds and an area for playing football.
The famous Canal du Midi is just a short walk away from this location. as is the resort of Cap d’Agde. Nearby towns, just a short drive away, include Beziers and Sete. Cycle hire is also available as another way to explore the area.
There is also plenty of evening entertainment to join in if you wish to, as well as a bar and a restaurant with a terraced area. This is a large site with over 700 pitches. Holidaymakers can also use the facilities of the neighbouring camping resort of Yelloh! Village Beach Club Farret.
3) Union Lido, Venetian Riviera, Italy
Union Lido is Al Fresco’s highest ranked camping park on the Venetian Riviera, with a score of 9.4 out of 10. The centrepiece of Union Lido is Aqua Park Laguna, which features 5 swimming pools, a lazy river, water slides, and a Jacuzzi pool within it. What’s more, you also get direct access to a gently sloping sandy Adriatic beach. This is a private beach with a bar within walking distance.
This is a very large Italian style camping resort with over 2,000 different pitches. There is a very good selection of various restaurants on site as well as four bars, so although it will be busy in high season there should still be enough options to for everyone to easily enjoy. The restaurants have also attracted very positive customer review rankings in their own right. There are also shops in different parts of the camping park so you don’t have to walk too far for groceries or takeaways.
Venice itself is about 35 miles away. Lido di Jesolo is nearer. The short bus journey to Punta Sabbioni gives you the option of travelling to Venice by ferry. A visit to Venice is always worth setting time aside for, especially if you’ve not been there before.
4) Camping Le Brasilia, Roussillon, France
Camping Le Brasilia is a large and lively camping park in Canet-Plage across the harbour from the yacht harbour. It scores 9.2 out of 10 in customer reviews.
Camping Le Brasilia enjoys direct access to the sandy beach that it is located along. Canet-Plage is north of better known Argeles-sur-Mer, approximately half an hour’s drive to the north. This is probably not the camping park to choose in high season if you like your evenings to be quiet and peaceful. If you like plenty of entertainment and a party atmosphere however, you will probably love it here.
There is a full programme of cabaret acts and discos in high season. Options for dining include a restaurant, which has a terrace, a pizzeria and a takeaway. There are also two bars. There are plenty of options for your own shopping, including a bakery for fresh bread, a butcher’s shop, a grocery and a sizeable minimarket.
The pool complex has no less than five swimming pools so that all types of visitor, from toddler to adult, are catered for. Waterfalls and waterslides built into the rocks will keep the more active swimmers busy.
Visitors to Camping Le Brasilia generally report it to be a pristine and well run camping park, fully deserving of it’s five star rating. There are over 400 pitches for tourers and almost 300 static caravans of various sizes and grades. For a bit more space why not book one of the larger more spacious Verdi or Vivaldi ranges for a bit more room.
For trips out, the legendary medieval walled town of Carcassonne is within driving distance as is the capital city of Roussillon, Perpignan. The fishing port of Collioure, close to the Spanish border, is only a short drive to get to. If you are feeling even more adventurous, Barcelona is only about three hours drive away.
5) Marina Di Venezia, Venetian Riviera, Italy
Scoring 9.2 out of 10 from customer reviews, Marina Di Venezia is a beautiful camping holiday park park with an amazing pool complex. Close to the delights of Venice, which is just a direct ferry service away, and also to miles of Blue Flag Adriatic beaches, this is a fantastic location with plenty of facilities.
Besides the water complex, there are plenty of other facilities here, including a tennis court, seven table tennis tables, a football pitch (plus other smaller pitches) and a basketball court. At the beach, there are no less than five volleyball nets. Windsurfing lessons are also available.
There are four bars, three restaurants, a takeaway and plenty of evening entertainment, often including fireworks and a DJ on the beach, to sample at Marina Di Venezia.
You will probably need a two week holiday to get the most out of everything going on here, especially if you also want to allow time for some sightseeing.
